I
am a new member of the Colwyn Abbey Players. We recently
performed a tribute to the people of wartime Britain called "Ration
Books and Stockings". I have been fortunate enough to be cast as
Roger in the forthcoming production of Richard Harris's "Outside
Edge". Roger is the captain of a cricket team and is struggling
to keep things together.
I have decided to keep a diary of how rehearsals are going along with
other projects with which I am involved; these include doing sound for
"Quake" and drumming in "Anything Goes".

We had a full read through which was great fun. Still not sure on
the dates or venue due to having to move from the original date because
some of us couldn't be there (including me). We also discussed
the smoking in the play - none of the cast smoke but there's a running
gag in which my character, Roger, is constantly cadging
cigarettes. We're going to try some fake fags but we'll have to
see.

Well, it was a long time coming but we've now had the first
rehearsal. It went quite well although none of us has learned
their lines. We've had a problem with the rehearsal venue being
already booked on Tuesdays so have had to rethink the rehearsal
schedule. As a simple rehearsal I was quite pleased although my
mind was on Roma who has just been in hospital.
