this song was the first (and last) song in the musical
written by john stott and myself in 1986. it was performed at Stockton
Heath Methodist Church in May 1986. "the day the universe went public"
was about a dreamer called joe public and his travels around the solar
system. a kind of planet suite, it was the first thing john and i wrote
together. copies of the tape are still available.
