Joe and the space travellers
arrive in the Gaiety Theatre, Uranus as The Great Innuendo and his assistant,
Glenda The Mystic, are performing. Never one to miss an opportunity,
Joe spoils the show by insisting on demonstrating the Robot Mark III with
disastrous results.
Verse 1
We’re the best show in the
galaxy, the greatest show you’ll find,
Let Innuendo do his tricks
and Glenda read your minds,
We’ve performed for royal
patronage and a president or two,
We’ve impressed them, let’s
do it again and let us impress you.
Chorus
With a flash and a bang
and a wallop and a whee!
With a flash and a bang
and a wallop and a whee we make things disappear,
The greatest show you’ll
ever see, the greatest show round here,
We tour throughout the galaxy
to asteroids and stars,
The greatest show, by Jupiter,
the greatest show by far!
Verse 2
Both: We do tricks
with skill and daring
Innuendo: And I do tricks
with cards
Glenda: And in that suit
he’s wearing that makes it rather hard.
Innuendo: With skill and
with precision I shoot a pistol blind,
Glenda: And I stand there,
no sign of fear.
Innuendo: She must be our
her mind.
Chorus
With a flash and a bang
and a wallop and a whee!
With a flash and a bang
and a wallop and a whee we make things disappear,
The greatest show you’ll
ever see, the greatest show round here,
We tour throughout the galaxy
to asteroids and stars,
The greatest show, by Jupiter,
the greatest show by far!
