Joe and his chums' second
stop is on Venus at siesta time. Everyone is asleep except for Citizen
1 who patrols to make sure verything is nice and quiet. Of course
Joe and his chums disturb the peace and are chased away.
Verse 1 – The Company
Amongst the bustle of everyday
life we need a time for peace,
So every morning around
this time, we gather here to sleep,
We can relax and we recline,
rekindle our lost power,
We sit and snooze and doze
awhile in out siesta hour
Chorus
Sleep in the Venusian style
Rest your weary limbs awhile
Snooze your Monday blues
away
Sleep today
Verse 2 – Solo
Through the siesta I walk
around, the keeper of the peace,
Ensuring no one makes a
sound, no one can sing or speak,
But, all this snoring, it
gets me down, I find it hard to take,
The only person around in
the town, the only one awake.
Chorus
Sleep in the Venusian style
Rest your weary limbs awhile
Snooze your Monday blues
away
Sleep today
Verse 3 – The Company
We love to spend our siesta
time here in the market place,
The atmosphere is calm and
sublime, your problems drift away,
Peace and quiet here can
be found in this serene domain,
Take off your shoes and
settle down, take forty winks today!
Chorus
Sleep in the Venusian style
Rest your weary limbs awhile
Snooze your Monday blues
away
Sleep today
